This blog describes
the development of a 4mm finescale concept layout: a small, working
model railway in the form of a diorama. It will be a test bed for novel and
interesting scenic techniques,
and a scenic display for a range of rolling stock.
The layout is set
in the Vale of Glamorgan, a scenically attractive, rural area of South Wales, overlooking
the Bristol Channel.
“stdonats1963” is my
main railway modelling blog, so there may be occasional posts on modelling
unconnected with South Wales.
Scenic or architectural items salvaged from my previous 4mm finescale layout, Kyle of Sutherland (see Reference Sites), which I dismantled at the end of 2018, may be re-used in the creation of St Donats 1963.
